Cervical Screening Awareness Posted or Updated on 20 May 2025

The Help Us Help You – Cervical Screening campaign encourages those eligible for a cervical screening (women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64) to respond to their invitation letter and book an appointment with a GP practice if they missed their last screening.

You may be surprised to know that many women don’t attend their offered screening tests. In England, nearly two women die a day from cervical cancer and cervical screening is one of the best ways to prevent that. Early diagnosis means more successful treatment.

It is a simple test that only takes around 5 minutes and could save your life. Don’t let embarrassment put you off.

If you have received a cervical screening invite don’t ignore it and if you missed your last one, book an appointment with your GP practice today. You may be glad you did.

To find out more about cervical cancer screening, how to book and what to expect please visit the cervical screening section of our website below.
