At the end of each month, we organise a Monthly Hike. These hikes are well attended and so far, we have ventured from Atherstone to Hartshill Hayes Country Park and back in January and last month, we followed the Leicester Round from Market Bosworth Country Park to Bosworth Battlefield, Shenton Railway Station and returned to Market Bosworth via the Gated Road.

Join us for our third Hike of 2024 on March 24th!

We’re back with an exciting March trail that you won’t want to miss.

Meeting Point: Ticknall Village Hall, DE73 7JW

Trail Highlights: Explore the rolling South Derbyshire countryside as we follow footpaths and bridleways, crossing field and woodland, towards the idyllic village of Melbourne.  Take in the breathtaking views of Melbourne Hall and the tranquility of The Pool as we walk southeast towards Staunton Harold Reservoir and enter the grounds of Calke Abbey.  Crossing through the vast estate we will pass the Abbey and finish back at the Village Hall.

Distance: 8-9 miles of pure outdoor bliss at a social pace, supported by two experienced guides.

Refuel Stop: We will pause in the village of Melbourne for some well-deserved refreshments.

As the spring sun reflects off the beautiful landscape and casts shadows through the trees, there’s no better time to reconnect with nature and your fellow adventurers! Our March hike promises scenic beauty, a great workout, and the opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in all its winter glory.

Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or just looking for a new adventure, this hike is a great opportunity to make memories, breathe in the fresh air, and embrace the beauty of winter together.

Pack your hiking boots, bring your adventurous spirit, and join us for a day of exploration, fun, and camaraderie.

See you on the trail!
